Vancouver, British Columbia (not to be confused with Vancouver, Washington), is a metropolitan area on the West Coast of British Columbia. You can get to Vancouver by train, plane, car, or bus. However, for this post’s sake, we will focus on arriving by plane.

Day 1: Travel
Our day begins in the Northeastern region of British Columbia as we head towards our local regional airport. These airports serve regional airlines such as Air Canada Express and WestJet Encore. These are essentially subsidiaries of our two leading national carriers: Air Canada and WestJet. The airports don’t have the capabilities to handle large jets, so the regional airlines operate turboprop aircraft between the airport and major airports such as Vancouver
We depart Fort St. John shortly after 1 pm and arrive in Vancouver around 2:30 pm. Upon arriving in Vancouver, we collected our luggage and headed to the SkyTrain to travel from the airport to Coquitlam. The journey takes about an hour and a half from the Airport to Lafarge Lake-Douglas. Our ride is waiting to pick us up upon arrival in Coquitlam, where we are taken to our accommodations for the week

Day 2: University of British Columbia
The day begins in Coquitlam, as I head to catch our bus to meet up with my friend Randy, a teacher from Dawson who spends his summers in Vancouver with his family. We meet near the Commercial-Broadway SkyTrain station and take a bus to a unique Chinese restaurant nearby. After lunch, we head to the University of British Columbia, where Randy shows me around the campus where he went to University.
After touring around for an hour or so, we catch a bus to Bridgeport Station, where we ride the 620 Twwassenn Ferry Terminal bus and get off at Twwassenn Mills outlet mall for dinner. After dinner and waiting for the bus, we head back to Bridgeport, catch the Canada Line SkyTrain to Broadway-City Hall, and board the 99 B-Line to Commercial-Broadway. He then heads home, and I ride the next train back home. This was the latest I was back home (to my aunt’s house, where I was staying for the week)
